Share Your Art or Teach at Kestrel Cafe
Kestrel Cafe is a creative community space in Essex, Maryland, where people gather to make things, learn new skills, share ideas, and connect with one another.
We believe creativity should be accessible, welcoming, and fun. Whether you're a professional artist, a passionate hobbyist, an author, a musician, or someone who loves teaching others, we'd love to learn more about what you do.
We're always looking for artists, makers, instructors, and creative people who would like to display their work, teach classes, host workshops, or bring new creative experiences to our community.
Kestrel Cafe is committed to supporting human creativity. We showcase original work created by artists, authors, musicians, makers, and teachers. AI-generated artwork, books, music, and other creative works are not accepted for display, consignment, or sale.

Classes & Workshops
Do you have a skill you'd love to share with others?
Kestrel Cafe welcomes class and workshop proposals that encourage creativity, learning, skill-building, and community connection. Whether you're an experienced instructor or someone teaching for the first time, we'd love to hear your ideas.
Classes can be focused on art, crafts, sewing, fiber arts, writing, journaling, painting, gaming, music, beginner-friendly skills, or other creative and educational experiences. If it helps people learn, create, connect, or have fun, we're interested in hearing about it.
You don't need to be a professional teacher. Passion, preparation, and a willingness to help others learn are often more important than formal teaching experience.
After material costs are deducted, class revenue is split:
50% Instructor / 50% Kestrel Cafe
Class proposals are reviewed based on scheduling availability, space requirements, audience interest, and overall fit with the Kestrel community.
Not sure if your idea would work? Submit it anyway. Some of our favorite events have started with someone asking, "This might be a strange idea, but..."
