About Kestrel Cafe
Kestrel Cafe was created by April and Geoff, two lifelong makers who believe that creativity is meant to be shared, not gatekept.

April is an artist, instructor, and art therapy coach who has spent years building community through art, sewing, embroidery, and music. She has been creating, vending, and mentoring other artists since 2009, and has always been drawn to spaces where people feel safe to learn, try, and make mistakes without judgment. At Kestrel Cafe, April leads classes and workshops designed to support intentional, seated creation and creative confidence at every skill level.

Geoff is a machine specialist, builder, and sound technician with a deep love for how things work. He supports the technical heart of Kestrel Cafe, from sewing and equipment setup to sound for live music and events. His steady presence and practical skill help make the space functional, comfortable, and welcoming.

Together, April and Geoff envisioned Kestrel Cafe as more than a shop or classroom. It is a creative gathering place. A space for classes, music, handmade goods, and guest artists. A place where people can sit with a cup of tea, make something with their hands, listen to music, or simply exist without pressure to perform or rush.

Kestrel Cafe proudly supports local artists, makers, and musicians by offering space to teach, share work, and connect with the community. Every class, artwork, and event helps sustain a creative ecosystem built on mutual respect and care.

We believe creativity is not a luxury. It is a human need. Kestrel Cafe exists to make space for that belief.
Accessibility and Inclusion
Kestrel Cafe strives to be a welcoming and inclusive space. We do our best to accommodate different needs and experiences, and we recognize that accessibility looks different for everyone. If you have questions about accessibility or would benefit from an accommodation for a class or event, please reach out and we will do our best to help.

We are strong supporters of at risk community members, LGBTQ+ persons, and those who seek haven and refuge in community spaces. Kestrel Cafe is a warm and welcoming place for all who choose kindness at our threshold. This is a safe space, and we are committed to protecting the well being and dignity of everyone who enters.
Vision
We envision Kestrel Cafe as a safe harbor for creativity and community. A place where artists are valued, learning is encouraged at every stage, and people from all walks of life can gather with respect and intention. Our vision is a thriving, inclusive creative ecosystem where kindness is the threshold, expression is nurtured, and everyone has space to create in peace.
Mission
Kestrel Cafe exists to provide a welcoming, creative space where people can slow down, make with their hands, and connect through art, music, and shared experience. We support local artists, makers, and musicians while offering intentional, seated opportunities to learn, create, and belong. Our mission is to make creativity accessible, human, and rooted in kindness and care.
